The Antarctic setting is absolutely stellar - you can feel the cold and isolation. Reminded me of the best parts of 'Arctic Dreams' crossed with a techno-thriller. The climate science exposition was well-integrated into the narrative. My main complaint is that the corporate villain plot felt very familiar if you've read much in this genre. Still, the execution is solid and the environmental urgency comes through clearly. Worth reading for cli-fi fans.
A thriller that feels ripped from tomorrow's headlines. The science is accessible, the action is intense, and the romance adds genuine heart to the story. Some plot points stretch credibility, but the overall impact is powerful. The scenes with Amina's village are particularly moving - putting a human face on climate change. A necessary book for our times.
The environmental themes are crucial and well-researched, but the corporate conspiracy elements feel a bit over-the-top. The romance is sweet but sometimes feels forced into the narrative. That said, the book succeeds in making climate science accessible and urgent. The Antarctic sequences are genuinely gripping, and Ivara is a strong, believable protagonist.
An absolutely riveting read that combines scientific thriller with environmental activism and romantic drama flawlessly. The author's knowledge of climate science is evident on every page, but it's their understanding of human nature that makes this book truly exceptional. Ivara and Erik are wonderful characters whose relationship develops organically. The Antarctic setting is so vivid I could feel the cold. Incredible storytelling.
This book does what the best climate fiction should do - it makes you care about the characters first, then opens your eyes to the environmental crisis through their journey. The relationship between scientific truth and corporate power is explored with nuance and intelligence. The ending is both hopeful and sobering. A must-read for anyone concerned about our planet's future.
